ABSTRACT |
Recently many studies and development of allergology especially in allergic rhinitis have been carried out and clinically correct diagnosis is most important. The distribution of total serum IgE is important in diagnosis of allergic rhinitis. Serum IgE was determined by paper radioimmunosorbent test. This paper presents a clinical survey for peripheral blood IgE of 80 cases of allergic rhinitis. They were diagnosed as allergic rhinitis, at Department of Otolaryngology, National Medical Center from February 1984 to August 1985. The results obtained were as follows : 1) Male to female ratio was 2.2 : 1 and peak age incidence was in the age group 11 to 20. 2) The estimation of total serum IgE for Korean normal subjects(20 cases) was 124.7IU/ml. 3) The estimation of total serum IgE for allergic rhinitis(80 cases) was 623. 65IU/ml.
