ABSTRACT |
Meningoencephalocele is an extracranial herniation of the meninges including some portion of the brain. This occurs due to the congenital defect of cranial bones. It is usually classified by occipital, parietal, sincipital, and basal types according to the location. Unilateral mass obstruction of the nasal passage serves as a warning to the otolaryngologist than usual biopsy without through antecedent radiologic survey could result in CSF rhinorrhea and meningitis. A 15 year old female patient had been suffered from the left nasal stuffiness since early childhood. The authors have experienced a case of intranasal meningoencephalocele and reported this case with the review of literatures.
