ABSTRACT |
Frontal sinus fractures usually occur in association with blunt trauma to the frontal area, but they also can occur with penetrating injuries. The most common cause is the automobile accidents and others include self-inflicted trauma, athletics, falls, missile injuries and industrial accidents. The evaluation of fractures involving the frontal sinus is important since significant complications can occur acutely or many years following injuries. Therefore, frontal sinus fractures usually are explored with surgical approach. Now authors report five cases of the frontal sinus fractures which were managed successfully from June, 1985 to January, 1987 and discuss these cases with review of literatures.
