ABSTRACT |
CSF rhinorrhea may originate from the frontal sinus, ethmoid sinus, sphenoid sinus or cribriform plate. Occasionally, it may originate from the mastoid or middle ear and reach the nasal cavity by way of the Eustachian tube. Trauma is the most common cause of CSF rhinorrhea. But non-traumatic CSF rhinorrhea is uncommon disorder due to increased ICP or erosion of the cribriform plate. eg, hydrocephalus intracranial tumor and chronic paranasal sinusitis. Recently, we had a experience which treated CSF rhinorrhea successfully and presented this case with review of literatures.
