ABSTRACT

A schwannoma is a solitary benign slowly growing encapsulated neoplasm that originates in a nerve and is composed of Schwan’s cell in a collagenous matrix. They usually occur in head and neck region. Among them, they are rare arising from the tongue. Recently, we have experienced the neurilemmoma arising in the tongue on 17-year-old female and removed successfully through external approach under local anesthesia.
