ABSTRACT

Because submucous resection have some definite disadvantage, various kinds of septal surgery have been developed. They can be devided into conservation and relocation method of septal supporting tissue. Since deformities after septal surgery are the result of postoperative scar contraction, it seems to be reasonable to use multiple crushed cartilage fragments in septal surgery. We investigated the crushing effect of septal cartilage experimentally and underwent 21 cases of septal surgery using crushed cartilage clinically.
