Although there are various kinds of management in the cervical tracheal stenosis, it is well known that the tracheal resection and end-to-end anastomosis is an ideal method of treatment. But this surgical treatment may bring about serious complications such as postoperative restenosis, recurrent laryngeal nerve damage growth of the granulation in the tracheal lumen, and the disruption of the anastomosis site, so extreme caution is neccessary in the operation. We performed tracheal resection and end-to-end anastomosis for 15 tracheal stenosis patients from Nov, 1987 to Apr, 1990. Based on the experiences which we got, the result, the surgical technique, and the postoperative care are discussed.
