Ossifying fibroma is a slow growing benign tumor that eventually expands to displace adjacent structures. It shows predisposition for the mandible and maxilla. A few reports in the literature disclose the rare occurrence of this lesion is the nasal bone, orbit, ethmoid sinus, occiput and temporal bone. We experienced a rare case of ossifying fibroma involving the temporal bone, which occurred in 26-year-old woman with hyperostosis of the external auditory canal and otalgia. The recent literatures concerning the sites, radiographic presentation, pathologic differentiation and modality of therapy are reviewd.
