ABSTRACT |
The immotile cilia syndrome is defined as an inborn human disorder characterized by inability of cilia to beat normally. Such cilia was associated with ultrastructural defects having specific and genetically determined abnormalities. The cilia with ultrastructural defects retain some abnormal ciliary motility, so we prefer primary ciliary dyskinesia. Early diagnosis of the disease may be important for diagnosis is ultimately confirmed by nasal electronmicroscopic biopsy and treatment is based on appropriate drainage procedure. Prognosis is excellent. Recently the authors experienced in a 22 year old female who had got bronchiectasis and chronic sinusitis. This patient was performed bilateral endoscopic sinus surgery. The patients was discharged with good result.
