ABSTRACT

Actinomycosis is one of chronic granulomatous infection with formation of abscesses and drainage with fistular formation. Recently we have experienced a rare case of actinomycosis of the right submandibular gland. A 13 yaer-old female visited to our department with palpable, hard, tender mass on the submandibular area, which was diagnosed by aspiration biopsy cytology. Incision and drainage was performed, and large dosage of penicillin was given intravenously. So we report this case with brief review of literature.
