ABSTRACT

In general, primary hemangioma of bone is rare and occurred most frequently in vertebra and calvaria. Recently, author experienced a case of hemangioma of the maxilla in a 26-year-old man. The mass was extirpated by Caldwell-Luc approach under general anesthesia. Amount of loss of bleeding during operation was about 500ml. Bleeding was controlled with vaselline gauze packing. On histological examination, it was confirmed to be cavernous type of hemangioma. We report a case of hemangioma of the maxilla with review of literature.
