The result as following : 1) The prevalance rate of chronic suppurative otitis media was 1.12% in this investigation. 2) The ratio between unilateral chronic suppurative otitis media and bilateral chronic suppurative otitis media is about 4 : 1. 3) More than half of them had understood that chronic suppurative otitis media was caused with the invasion of water to their ear during shower or swimming. 4) In 260 cases(67.7%), they experienced medical care and only in 30 cases(7.8%) they took the middle ear surgeries. 5) In 16 cases(17.0%), they had never known that they had chronic suppurative otitis media until investigation. 6) In 94 cases, because of poor economic condition in 36 cases(38.3%) or not knowing it in 16 cases(17.2%), they had never taken medical care for chronic suppurative otitis media. 7) In 27 cases(7.0%), they did not want the medical care for their ear problem and in 83 cases(21.6%) they wanted only intermittent care after this investigation. 8) Only in 139 cases(36.2%), they believed chronic suppurative otitis media could be cured by treatment. With above result, many people do not understand or they neglect their chronic suppurative otitis media. So, the extension of medical education and promotion of utilities of medical service are necessary to reduct the prevalance rate of chronic suppurative otitis media.
