ABSTRACT |
Author analyzed 256 Bekesy audiograms by Jerger's classification and recruitment phenomenon by tracking amplitude of contineous tone. The results were as follows ; 1) All normal hearing and conductive hearing loss cases, 91.6% of cochlear hearing loss, and 84.4% of retrocochlear hearing loss cases showed type I in Bekesy audiogram. 2) All the case of type II in Bekesy audiogram showed sensorineural hearing loss without diagnostic significance of site of hearing loss. 3) All cases of type III and type IV showed retrocochlear hearing loss, but were rare(3 case). 4) Analyzing the recruitment phenomenon by tracking amplitude of contineous tone in Bekesy audiogram, most(86.3%) of SISI positive cases showed negative respone to recruitment. 5) Author concluded that type of Bekesy audiogram had no diagnostic significance of site of hearing loss.
