ABSTRACT

Palatal myoclonus is a syndrome characterized by continuous rhythmic and involuntary twitching movement of the palate at a rate of 40-250 times per minute. This syndrome should not be considered a disease but rather than a sign of disturbed function within the brainstem. We report eight cases of palatal myoclonus ; include a case disappeared during sleep, a case developed after cerebellar hemorrhage, a case associated with chronic active hepatitis, and a case associated with nasal surgery due to chronic pansinusitis.
