ABSTRACT

Neurofibromas are uncommon tumors, which originate from cells of the sheath of Schwann, fibroblast and perineurium. These benign tumors usually occur as a part of von Recklinghausen's disease and rarely as a solitary tumor. These tumors can occur anywhere in the body, and about 30% of them occur at head and neck, but they rarely occur at submandibular area. We experienced a case of neurofibroma which had occurred at right submandibular area as a solitary tumor, so we report with a brief literature riview.
