ABSTRACT

Frequently, blow-out fracture of the medial orbital wall is seen in association with the fracture of the orbital floor or the more complex bony disruptions as trimalar fracture, LeFort II or III, nasoethmoidal and panfacial fracture, and pure blow-out fracture of the medial orbital wall is infrequent due to the anatomical character. Recently, we experienced two cases of blow-out fracture of the medial orbital wall, the one is an isolated blow-out fracture of the medial orbital wall with the entrapment of the medial rectus muscle in a 5 years old male patient, the other is an blow-out fracture of the medial orbital wall with the entrapment of the medial rectus muscle associated with the fracture of the orbital floor with the entrapment of the inferior rectus muscle in a 31 years old male patient. The diagnosis were confirmed by C-T, and the reconstructions of the medial orbital wall with the allograft were done via Lynch approach with good results. So the authors report these cases with the review of the literatures.
