ABSTRACT |
Ectopic lingual thyroid is a developmental anomaly characterized by an aggregate of thyroid tissue in the base of the tongue and is located between the foramen cecum and the epiglottis. It is found much more commonly in women, especially during periods of endocrine activity. We experienced a case of ectopic lingual thyroid in a 53 years old female patient which confirmed by scintigram with radioactive iodine. So we report this case with review of the literature.
