ABSTRACT |
Congenital membranous choanal atresia is an uncommon anomaly of the posterior choanal atresia. The etiology of this malformation is unknown. The types of choanal atresia are bony (90%) and membranous (10%). Recently, the authors had experience with one case of congenital membranous choanal atresia in a 4 year old female child who had surgical correction with urethral sound and silastic tube insertion by transnasal approach.
