ABSTRACT

Papilloma is the most common benign tumor of tonsil, but bilateral palatine tonsillar papilloma is not frequent. Recently the authors experienced a case of large bilateral palatine tonsillar papilloma. The patient, 37-year-old woman, visited to our ENT out-patients-department on July 10, 1984 because of frequent sore throat and foreign body sensation for about one year. On physical examination, both palatine tonsils were reddish-yellow, mulberry-like appearance and its consistency was hard. The tumor mass were removed by routine tonsillectomy technique under general anesthesia and confirmed as papilloma by histopathologic examination.
