ABSTRACT

In general, hemangioma of the bone is a very rare tumor, and there has been no reported case of maxillary hemangioma in the Korean literatures so far. Recently, authors experienced a case of hemangioma originated from the maxilla in a 6-year old boy. Complete extirpation of mass was done by partial maxillectomy under the general anesthesia after ligation of the left external carotid artery. On histological examination, it was confirmed to be a cavernous type of hemangioma.
