ABSTRACT

Inverted papilloma of the nose and paranasal sinuses is a neoplastic growth of epithelium which inverted into the underlying stroma rather than proliferating outward from the surface. Most of these neoplasms probably arise from the area of the lateral nasal wall. Inverted papilloma is characterizes by capacity to destroy, tendence to recur and association with malignancy. Recently we have experienced in two cases with inverted papilloma of the nasal cavity, associated with or without the maxillary sinus. We advocated aggressive surgical procedures for the management by use lateral rhinotomy wide incision of the lateral nasal wall with Caldwell-Luc's procedure.
