ABSTRACT |
The uncommon malignant soft tissue neoplasm, rhabdomyosarcoma, has been reported as arising from a wide variety of anatomic sites. Early diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma is important because the disease, once inevitably fatal, can be controlled and apparently cured in most case by a combination of surgery, radiation and multidrug chemotherapy. A 16-year-old male, suffered from protruding mass on left side of hard palate for 7 month, visited to the Dept of ENT. Seoul Han Yang University Hospital. Under general
anesthesia, removal of palatal mass and palatoplasty with buccal mucosal flap was performed. Biopsy revealed rhabdomyosarcoma of the embryonal type.
