ABSTRACT |
Inverted papilloma of the nose and paranasal sinuses is a neoplastic growth of epithelium which inverts into the underlying stroma rather than proliferating outward from the surface. These neoplasms probably arise from the area of the lateral nasal wall. Inverted papilloma is characterized by its : capacity to destroy ; tendency to recur ; and association with malignancy. Recentely, the authors experienced a case of huge inverted papilloma in the left nasal cavity, maxillary antrum, anterior with posterior ethmoid sinuses and sphenoid sinus. The biopsy report revealed inverted papilloma. P.N.S. X-ray and Computerized tomography(CT) revealed bone destruction of medial and lateral wall of left maxillary antrum and partial destruction of nasal septum.
