ABSTRACT

Nasal dermoid cyst is a rare congenital tumor of the nose and frequently present in the padiatric age groups. Dermoid cysts of the nose may present difficult management problems if inadequatelly evaluated preoperatively or if incompletly excised. Recurrence is notorious and complete excision of this lesion with adequate exposure is necessary for prevention of recurrence, even if the tumor is benign. The diagnosis should be considered with all midline nasal cystic swelling or sinuses. The differential diagnosis includes glioma, hemangioma, encephalocele, meningocele, epidermoid cyst and lipoma etc. The authors have experienced a case of midline dermoid cyst of the dorsum nasi to attachment to the dura of frontal bone and excised completely in midline incision.
