ABSTRACT |
Neurilemmoma is relatively uncommon, slowly growing lesion which originate from the ectodermal schwann cells of the nerve sheath. This tumor was first described by Verocay in 1908. In the oral cavity, the most common location for the neurilemmoma is the tongue, and it is rarely located at the floor of the mouth. Recently I have experienced two cases of the neurilemmoma arising in the floor of the mouth on a 27-year-old male and a 17-year-old female. This tumor was removed successfully, under general anesthesia. Pathologic findings were consistent of the neurilemmoma, and postoperative course was uneventful. |
