ABSTRACT

Rhinoliths are rare in the nasal space. They usually have a foreign body nucleus of bacteria, blood, pus cells, mucus, crust or some foreign material from outside of the body. They vary in size from small granules to those an ounce or more in height. Recently, we experienced a case of rhinoliths in the left nasal cavity and maxillary sinus in 56-years-old female who has been headache, unilateral(left) fetid, blood-tinged purulent rhinorrhea and nasal stuffiness etc. Under local anesthesia, one rhinolith in the nasal cavity was removed with the use of nasal bayonet forcep and suction tip but, the other one in the maxillary sinus was evacuated through Caldwell-Luc's approach.
