ABSTRACT |
Neurilemmoma is neoplasm which arises generally from the Schwann's cells of the cranial and spinal nerve roots as well as peripheral nerves. It arises rarely from the tongue. We experienced a case of neurilemmoma arising in the tongue in March, 1979. The patient was 24 year-old male who had noticed a gradual swelling of the central dorsum of the tongue for past 12 years. The tumor was completely removed under the general endotracheal anesthesia via transoral approach and was verified histopathologically as neurilemmoma, Antoni type A, of the tongue.
