ABSTRACT |
Benign tumors of the tonsil are relatively uncommon and the fewer are lymphangiomas. Recently, author experienced a case of pedunculated cavernous lymphangioma arising from a crypt of the right tonsil in a forty-two-year-old woman. The patient complained the sense of foreign body in the throat, which has been getting worse for about ten years. Removal of the tumor with tonsillectomy was performed under general anesthesia. The pathological examination of the tumor showed a cavernous lymphangioma. The operation and the postoperative course were uneventful and well. This present case report shows its rarity through the reviews of past literatures.
