ABSTRACT |
A case of midline paralysis of the vocal cords was treated by woodman's operation. This patient is a 40 year old man who was treated with X-ray therapy under the diagnosis of lymphoepithelioma of the nasopharynx on Feb. 27 '67. After an X-ray therapy, this patient's subjective symptoms were much improved until the patient's last visit to this hospital except mild dyspnea on exertion since about 3 years previously. But this patient complained of severe dyspnea on exertion since about 3 months previously. On physical examination, we noticed midline paralysis of the vocal cords without abnormal mass under the direct laryngoscopy. So, this patient was treated by woodman's operation for vocal cards paralysis.
