| ABSTRACT |
|
A non-invasive extratympanic electrocochleography (ECoG) was performed on 23 normal ears. The amplitude and the latency of the summating potential (SP) and the action potential (AP) were measured at the 82.5 dB HL of click stimulus. The SP/AP was calculated using the value of each amplitude. We have measured these parameters as a ground work for obtaining the diagnostic value of extratympanic ECoG in Meniere's disease. The results were as follows : 1) The amplitudes of SP were 0.29±0.23 μV at 1 KHz, 0.56±0.32 μV at 4 KHz. 2) The amplitudes of AP were 1.30±0.55 μV at 1 KHz, 2.21±0.86 μV at 4 KHz. 3) The SP/AP ratios were 0.27±0.22 at 1 KHz, 0.26±0.10 at 4 KHz. 4) The latencies of SP were 1.17±0.22 mSec at 1 KHz, 0.92±0.12 mSec at 4 KHz. 5) The latencies of AP were 2.01±0.18 mSec at 1 KHz, 1.59±0.16 mSec at 4 KHz.
