ABSTRACT

Congenital ossicular anomalies may occur in an isolated form, in association with external ear anomalies, or as a feature of a more general condition or syndromes. We experienced 8 cases of congenital conductive hearing loss due to ossicular anomalies confirmed by exploratory tympanotomy between the years 1983 and 1988. All cases of otosclerosis and those with any history of trauma and infection of the ear were excluded.
